Enrollment hours extended for final two weeks
August 11, 2009 - In an effort to better serve families and reduce wait times, Rockford Public Schools will extend or offer evening hours at the Family Resource Center, 978 Haskell Avenue, so that parents of new and transferring students may enroll during the evening on four upcoming dates.
Enrollment is for students who are not assigned to a school because they are new to the community or transferring into the Rockford School District from a local private or parochial school or who previously have been home-schooled.
FRC hours through the start of classes August 26 are as follows:
9 AM to 6:30 PM AUGUST 13 and 14th (to coincide with registration taking place in all schools) Noon to 6:30 PM on AUGUST 24; 9 AM to 6:30 PM on AUGUST 25 9 AM to 3:30 PM all other days during the weeks of AUGUST 10, 17 and 24.
Parents and guardians of new and transferring middle school and high school students should enroll on-site at the school in the attendance zone where they live; only families with new and transferring elementary-age children should enroll at FRC.
Visit rps205.com under the “Attendance Zones are Easy” banner for more information regarding on-site enrollment.
Registration takes place for all students at all schools from 10 AM to 6 PM August 13 and 7 AM to 3 PM August 14. (During registration, activity and book fees are collected, health and other student records are updated and class schedules are distributed to high school and middle school students.)
