Rapid Response Room established to address back-to-school concerns
August 26, 2009 - In an effort to ensure a smooth start to the 2009-2010 school year, Superintendent Dr. LaVonne M. Sheffield has established a Rapid Response Room to provide principals with one number to call for all back-to-school issues that may arise during the first week of classes.
For two hours each morning and three hours each afternoon, Cabinet officers and other senior leadership will operate a phone bank from a central location to provide the quickest answers and solutions as possible.
“Principals can dial the number with questions regarding any type of school operation – whether it concerns transportation, food service, human resources, curriculum or attendance,” Dr. Sheffield said. “The purpose of the Rapid Response Room is to provide our schools with the maximum amount of support during this critical first week.”
Phone lines are open in the Rapid Response Room from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week and those same hours next Monday, August 31. |
