Creating an Activity Book
This unit on Rockford History was designed by elementary teacher Bobbi Koch for her Montessori students. After studying about the history of Rockford, the children will be asked to create their own "Pocket Book" illustrating the birth of Rockford. Directions for creating this activity book are found toward the end of the slide presentation.

Midway Village Museum has designed four in-class field trip experiences for your third grade classroom! Please contact Mark Herman at Midway Village for additional information. These programs are designed to give your third grade students quality curriculum that meets Social Studies, English Language Arts, and Math standards and complies with the Third Grade Social Studies requirement to teach about Rockford and complements the study of Communities in Grade 3.
