History

Along with providing contact information for our dedicated department staff we intend to use this website to create greater public awareness of issues related to attendance and truancy.

Mission Statement

Comprehensive Community Solutions mission is to bring about fundamental transformation of neighborhoods, communities, and teh circumstances of those who live there, through programs and services which emphasize building human capital, communities and affordable housing, including but not limited to:

  • Planning, developing and implementing programs which are designed to train, educate and make more self-sufficient at rish individuals, especially young people, including education, job training, counseling and assistance in finding employment.
  • Providing decent housing that is affordable to low and moderate income people, including but no limited to construction, rehabilitation, and management of such housing;
    and
  • Fostering sustainable commmunities through collaborative, neighborhood-based services and support which improve the social and economic fabric of the community.

    Part of CCS that we would like to feature is called Youth Build

    EDUCATION, JOB TRAINING, AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
    Youth Build Rockford : Youth build is a unique program serving out of school youth ages 16-24 who are from low-income communities, have dropped out of school and are unemployed. It provides academic education, vocational skills training, personal counseling, positive peer support, leadership development, job placement and follow-up soupport. Young people spen half their time in academic programming, and half learning skills in construction or computer technology.

    When Applying - Certain documentation is required at the time of your application to determine your eligibility for the program. See below for list of requirements.

  • State I.D. / Drivers License
  • Social Security Card
  • Education verification info: This is a letter stating the last day of your attendance in school. It is also shows if you have dropped out of school.
  • Birth Certificates
  • Public Aid: Any forms of documentation showing that you are receiving public aid and how much, along with any other assistance from WIC, food stamps, medical card, SSI, etc....
  • Address verification: Any 2 forms of mail showing your name and address on it.
  • Income Verification: Year to date income of everyone in your household including; W2 Forms from last year and Most recent pay stubs

    The Carpenter's Place

    Mission Statement:

    The Carpenter's Place provides the tools necessary for rebuilding the lives of the homeless. Inspired by Christ's compassion, The Carpenter's Place offers direction with accountability to people with broken live, helping them find peace with God, themselves, and their communities.


    The Carpenter's Place uses an extensive Community Collaboration Model that effectively coordinates and utilizes appropriate existing community resources including mainstream social services, faith-based organizations, churches, private resources, and others.

    A Holistic and Comprehensive Assessment and "Life Recovery Plan" covers 14 areas of a homeless person's life including:

  • Identification
  • Housing
  • Relationships
  • Health
  • Mental Health
  • Addictions
  • Legal
  • Employment
  • Financial
  • Education
  • Transportation
  • Belongings
  • Recreation
  • Spiritual

    Results:

    In the one year period from 7/1/07 to 6/30/08
  • 309 homeless persons transitioned to stabilized housing
  • 186 attained employment, 168 full time!

    December 8, 2008- The Student Attendance Report for November is now available in the Attendance Data portion of this site. I have also posted a few graphs below that compare this years data to that of the 2007-2008 school year.













    Youth Services Network, INC.

    History:

    Since 1982, YSN has provided services to Winnebago and Boone Counties. YSN staff serve youth ages 0-21 and their families.

    Mission:

    Develop, encourage and coordinate services and activities that improve the physical, psychological and social well-being of youth in Winnebago and Boone Counties.

    YSN assists youth with a variety of issues:

  • Emotional or mental health concerns
  • Pregnant or parenting
  • Runaway or homeless
  • Victim of physical or sexual abuse
  • Adjudicated disadvantage

    YSN Staff provide many services:

  • Coordinate services for youth
  • Promote cooperation among social services agencies
  • Provide case-management services like tutoring, mentoring, transporting, recreation, etc.
  • Provide counseling and play therapy
  • Provide placement stabilization

    YSN Staff are caring, professional and ready to connect our community's youth with much needed services!

    YSN
    works to help resolve trauma, reduce crisis and stabilze youth in their community, so they can grow into happy, healthy and successful adults.
