The Rockford Public Schools' Communications office provides information to both the community and staff regarding the schools, programs and services within the school district. Services offered by Communications include:
News media relations (news releases, media advisories, news conferences, teleconferences, etc.) for the 52 schools within the Rockford Public Schools, its Board of Education and Central Support offices and departments.
Development of school brochures/profiles, postcards, placards, posters, and other collateral materials.
Development and maintenance of an interactive Internet web site (www.rps205.com).
Development of original audio and video programming for the district's education channel (WGRE-TV INSIGHT Cable Channel 20) including: school profiles, the district's school choice plan, district-wide strategic plans, and hundreds of video productions.
Government relations at the local, state and federal level.
Development and coordination of special events.
Serving as a liaison to the community, news media, business and government.
Serving as a clearinghouse for district information.
