| | Kindergarten is the entry grade for all other district elementary schools. Some provide half-day and/or all-day kindergarten classes.
Admission to kindergarten will be granted to students who are five years old on or before September 1.
The Rockford Early Childhood Program staff will assist families of early childhood students in the transition to kindergarten. |

| | | Under the Illinois School Code, school districts must provide free transportation services to all students who live beyond 1.5 miles from their chosen school or public transportation. Bus routes are established during the summer when schools are closed. Schedules, with pick-up and drop-off time information, are mailed to students approximately two weeks prior to the beginning of school. |
