STUDENT ENROLLMENT
2008-2009 School Year
NEW or RETURNING to the District All assignments of students to a Rockford Public School take place at the Family Resource Center . School assignments for grades K through 5, 8, 11 and 12 are based upon parent choice and seat availability. For grades 6, 7, 9 and 10, students will be assigned to the school located in their residence zone. (On February 13th, 2007 the Rockford Public School Board approved a new Zone Assignment Plan. The zone plan went into effect during the 2007-2008 school year affecting only 6th and 9th graders. In the 2008-2009 school year, it will be affecting 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th graders. The plan will continue to increase by one grade each year until fully implemented.)
Currently we are taking appointments for enrollments for students who are NEW or RETURNING to Rockford Public Schools and who will be attending the 2008-2009 school year. Please call 815-967-8070 for available times and dates. Assignments will be given at the scheduled time based on seat availability.
Currently Enrolled Students All 5th and 8th grade students currently enrolled in Rockford Public Schools received a letter in the mail notifying them of their assignment for 6th and 9th grade to their Zone school. If you did not receive a letter, please call the Family Resource Center to verify your address and to find out what your school assignment will be.
Students in all other grades who are currently enrolled in the District will automatically be assigned to the next grade at the school they currently attend. All students must register at their school on August 12th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm or August 13th from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
