CURRENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS GOING TO MIDDLE SCHOOL OR HIGH SCHOOL All 5th and 8th grade students currently enrolled in RPS205 should have received a letter in the mail notifying them of their assigments for 6th and 9th grades in their Zone school for the 2009-2010 school year. ALL ELEMENTARY ENROLLMENT (grades K-5 and theme schools Barbour Language Academy (K-8), Ellis Arts Academy (K-8), Montessori (K-6) are processed at Family Resource Center. Assignment to K-5 schools is based on parent choice and seat availability, and made on a first-come, first-served basis. KINDERGARTEN AND MONTESSORI PRE-K ENROLLMENT Early enrollment for Kindergarten and Montessori Pre-K is now closed. No more applications will be taken for Montessori Pre-K.
Priority enrollment for the 2010-2011 Kindergarten year will be announced in the future and will most likely take place in January/February. Enrollments must be done in-person by a parent or guardian at the Family Resource Center. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 for Kindergarten. Montessori Pre-K is available for children who are 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 Children who hear or speak a language other than English must accompany the parent for an on-site language assessment.

NOTE: Students in all other grades who are currently enrolled in the District will automatically be assigned to the next grade at the school they currently attend. All students will be required to register at their school on August 13 (10-6) and August 14 (7-3), 2009.
FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER We are an information center where parents can obtain materials about each school in District 205. Individual school profiles, brochures and school report cards are available to assist parents in making school choice selections.
We answer questions and work with families to assign students to a school and provide them with bus transportation information. In addition, they can channel families to No Child Left Behind (NCLB) programs: CLICK FOR LINK. Bilingual (Spanish) staff and materials are available to assist limited English proficient families.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH The Family Resource Center serves as an informational network and works in collaboration with the community and social services agencies. This service offers families a "one-stop" approach to gathering information about school options and basic community services that families may require.
