FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES THAT MOST GROUP HEATH PLANS GIVE EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE THEIR HEALTH CARE COVERAGE WHEN THERE IS A “QUALIFYING EVENT” THAT WOULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF COVERAGE.
