Group dental insurance benefits are available to all full time employees and part time employees with a position covered under the Rockford Education Association contract. Generally, full-time employess are those employees who work 30 hours per week or more; for bus drivers the requirement is 25 hours per week or more to be eligibile for group dental insurance benefits. Dental insurance benefits become effective 30 days after the employee's start date.
Employees eligible for group dental insurance have two opportunities to enroll, upon hire and during the annual Open Enrollment (November 1-21 for benefits effective January 1st of the following calendar year). |
Adult Dependent Health Insurance Coverage
Effective January 1, 2010, the Rockford Public Schools will implement Illinois Public Act 95-0958 which states that group health insurance plans must give parents with insurance plans that cover dependents the right to elect health coverage for qualifying dependents up to age 26 and up to age 30 for military veteran dependents. If you have an adult dependent, the attached information may be of interest to you.
