| Group medical insurance benefits are available to eligible full-time employees. Generally, full-time employees are those employees who work 30 hours per week or more; for bus drivers the requirement is 25 hours per week or more to be eligibile for group medical insurance benefits. Medical insurance benefits come effective 30 days after the employee's start date.
Employees eligible for group medical insurance have two opportunities to enroll, upon hire and during the annual Open Enrollment (November 1-21 for benefits effective January 1st of the following calendar year.)

| | Adult Dependent Health Insurance Coverage | Effective January 1, 2010, the Rockford Public Schools will implement Illinois Public Act 95-0958 which states that group health insurance plans must give parents with insurance plans that cover dependents the right to elect health coverage for qualifying dependents up to age 26 and up to age 30 for military veteran dependents. If you have an adult dependent, the attached information may be of interest to you.
