WAH (Work at Home) License for Microsoft Office
NOTE:The computer must have an active Internet Connection to activate the license!!!
The Rockford Public Schools acquired licenses through Microsoft academic volume licensing programs that enable certified and clerical staff the right to use a second copy of Microsoft Office on a home computer for work-related purposes.

You should clearly understand the terms and conditions of Work at Home rights.

This acceptance form is valid for the Microsoft products checked below, which shall be referred to collectively herein as the “Software”. Software is made available to you because the Rockford Public School District has purchased software licenses for the Software through a Microsoft® Academic Select 6.x agreement. Rockford Public School District is extending to you the right to use the Software for work-related purposes at home. You are not licensed to use the Software at home for personal purposes. You do not own the license, the Software, or the CDs. You will be required to remove the software from your home machine at the time of agreement expiration or termination.

Work at Home Use Rights have been granted by (name of institution) for the following product(s (referred to collectively herein as the “Software”):

  • Office Professional Edition 2002
    (Office 2002 Professional has the following programs:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Publisher is not a part of Office Professional 2002 see next entry)

  • Publisher 2002 Work at Home Media
  • Office Professional Office 2003
    (Office 2003 Professional has the following programs:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher)

  • Office Professional Office 2007
    Office 2007 Professional has the following programs:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher)

    Please initial each statement:
    ____ I will read and abide by the license agreement associated with this Software.
    ____ I understand that no technical support is provided by Rockford Public School District in association with my work-at-home use.
    ____ I understand the minimum specifications to run the Software as listed.
    ____ I understand that I must remove the Software from my machine at the time of agreement expiration or termination.
    ____ I understand that I am not licensed to use the Software for personal purposes.
    ____ You must have Internet access available when you do the install.
    ____ An agreement must be signed that includes the RPS tag number of the computer assigned to you at school.
    ____ As the CD for installing has a one time use key…there is a fee (see table on this page for cost of the version you need).
    ____ Should you transfer buildings, you may need to uninstall Office if you do not have a computer available to you, or change the version Office (at your cost) should your new computer have a lower version installed.

  • How to identify the version of Microsoft Office that you have on your school computer.
    1. Open Microsoft Word.
    2. Click Help.
    3. Click About Microsoft Word.
    4. Make note of the information that appears on the top two lines. It should resemble the picture below. You are looking for the Microsoft Office Professional and a number i.e., 2003, 2002, 2000 or Microsoft Word 2007, 2003, 2002, 2000.
      (Microsoft Office 97 Disks are not available)

    Office Version
    The individual will need to provide a check payable to Rockford Public Schools in order to reimburse the district for the cost of the media. (There is an $8.00 fee for NSF checks.)The staff member needs to keep the media and have it available for upgrades.

    (Office 2002 Professional has the following programs:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Publisher is not a part of Office Professional 2002, Publisher is available separately if you wish to acquire it...see below)

  • Publisher 2002 Work at Home Media .... $5.45.

  • Microsoft Office Professional 2000 has the following programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher)..... Contact Tim McFadden for information

    The completed agreement (see download link above) and the check can be sent to Tim McFadden at the Board Office. Please make certain to indicate your building so that the media can be sent to you.

  • The IT department cannot provide technical assistance or be held responsible for problems arising from the installation.
  • It is the staff member's responsibility to determine if their home system meets the System Requirements for Microsoft Office (see link below.
  • The offer applies only to home computers and not to computers located in a school building.
  • The software can only be used for work related projects.
  • The software must be uninstalled should you leave the district.
  • If you change buildings, you will be responsible for requesting (and paying for) a different version of Office Media should the computer at your new building have an older version than the one installed at home.
  • This offer is only available to Certified, Clerical, IT staff.
  • The license is only for the MS Office and is not available for the Windows Operating System.
