MAY/JUNE/JULY, 2009 See what will be offered this summer for District 205's Teaching American History Grant, Freedom Project! Some openings are still available for professional development through summer workshops. Also, register now for upcoming symposiums for 2009-2010!!
OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER-2009 Big things are happening in the next few months!! Be sure to check out the upcoming symposium on The American Revolution with guest speaker/author Carol Berkin! More information on upcoming events and an opportunity for you to help decide this year's Focus Group Field Trips for teachers in the spring!!
JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2010 January Symposium on Immigration to feature renowned historians Roger Daniels, David Reimers, and Neil Foley. Also, take a look at the plans for the 2010 Summer Institute on "Slavery in America."
MARCH, APRIL - 2010 March Symposium to highlight Roaring '20's and the Great Depression with historians Bob Korstad of Duke and Susan Ware of Harvard. More on the Summer Institute plans for August 16-20th on "Slavery in America" which will feature the two top historians in the country on the issue: Ira Berlin of the University of Maryland and James Horton of George Washington University and historian for the PBS series "Slavery and the Making of America."
