| ROCKFORD TO HOST 4TH ANNUAL ILLINOIS STATE TEACHING AMERICAN HISTORY GRANT CONFERENCE IN MARCH

Pulitzer Prize Winner, Samantha Power, to Present Keynote |
| 4th Annual Illinois TAH Conference |
Rockford will play host to Teaching American History Grant participants from across the state on Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th. Friday's events will kick off at Cliffbreakers' Conference Center on W. Riverside Blvd. with a bus tour of historic sites in Rockford. Participants will tour Veterans Memorial Hall, Tinker Swiss Cottage, Atwood Outdoor Ed Center (the former Camp Grant), and will conclude their rounds with a stop at Midway Village for a brief tour and a reception. Back at Cliffbreakers, attendees will enjoy a dinner buffet with a special guest appearance by former President Theodore Roosevelt! The keynote address for the evening will be given by world-renowned author and winner of the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction, Samantha Power. Each person attending the conference will receive a copy of Power's book, "A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide" which she will sign following her keynote address. |
