During the first two weeks of school, students who are riding Rockford Public School buses need to be at their bus stops ten minutes prior to the time listed on their information notice. After the first two weeks of school, students should be at their bus stop five minutes prior to their pick-up time. Buses will not wait past an assigned pick-up time for late students. The Transportation Department clock is in sync with atomic time.
The Transportation Department would like to stress to parents how important it is that home address changes and child care provider address changes be made as soon as possible at either the Transportation Department, 2000 Christina Street, 966-3706 or at the Family Resource Center at Roosevelt, 978 Haskell Avenue, 967-8070.
If the Transportation Department is notified of an address change at least two weeks prior to moving, there will be no lapse in transportation; however, if the Transportation Department is not notified until after moving, there could be up to a two week wait before new transportation can begin. After August 4th only existing stops or stops along an existing route will be used for child care provider addresses.
