The Golden Apple Foundation has announced Golden Apple Recipients for 2008. Richard Toppe, Brookview Elementary School 2nd Grade and Patty Bachmann, Barbour Language Academy 1st Grade Dual Language were two of the five recipients of this prestigious award. They were selected from twenty outstanding semi-finalists representing the public and non-public school districts of Winnebago and Boone County.


Golden Apple Foundation and award sponsors, Sunil Puri and Jenine Cannell-Puri, presented the third annual Puri Family Outstanding Principal Award today to Mr. Michael Francis of Jackson Elementary School in Rockford. Surrounded by a gymnasium full of cheering students and staff and family, Mr. Francis was congratulated by members of the Golden Apple Foundation Board of Directors, Superintendent, Linda Hernandez and long time friend and recipient of the first Outstanding Principal Award, Mr. Randy Larson.
