First Grade
First grade is an exciting year where students make the transition to becoming self-motivated independent learners. Teaching takes a thematic approach where extensions and connections are made that stimulate critical thinking. Reading instruction is individualized. Writing, which includes poetry, journaling, stories and research, is an integral component of all disciplines. Math and science use a hands-on approach, which provides students with the opportunity to reach their own level of excellence. |
