Student Outcomes

outcomes Student outcomes and products are the culmination of learning and reflect growth in cognitive, creative and affective areas of the curriculum. Outcomes are both tangible (reports, displays, videos, etc.) and intangible (new concepts and abilities).

Evaluation of student outcomes and products is varied and multi-dimensional. Appropriate and specific criteria for product evaluation are established during the planning phase by the student and/or teacher and self-evaluation, peer-evaluation and/or teacher evaluation may be utilized. The grade distribution in a gifted classroom may not follow a normal curve. Expectations of student performance are elevated, and the student who earns all A's in a regular classroom may not receive the same grades within the gifted program. Parents understand that a gifted student earning a B in a gifted classroom is likely to be making greater progress than he would be in a regular classroom with an A average.
