NEH Offers "We The People" Initiative Funds to Improve History Literacy

SCOPE: The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is offering a "We The People" program to encourage the reading of classic literature in the context of American history. NEH is collaborating with the American Library Association to present the We the People Bookshelf. The libraries that are selected will receive 15 thematically-related books, along with supplementary materials, including bookplates, bookmarks, brochures, and posters. This offer will be awarded to at least 1,000 libraries over the course of two application periods.

Barnes & Noble

SCOPE: Funding is on a local, regional, and national level. Local and regional funding must show a connection to literacy, arts, or K-12 education, plan to promote the program with Barnes & Noble, and be willing to work with the local store(s) on in-store programming.
