Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT)

-March 2-13, 2009 Grades 3,4,5,6,7,8

The Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) measures individual student achievement relative to the Illinois Learning Standards. The results give families and educators a measure of student learning and school performance.

In 2008-2009, students in grades 3, 5, 6 and 8 will take subtests in reading, writing and mathematics. Students in grades 4 and 7 will take subtests in reading, mathematics and science.

While several resources from the State's web site are provide below, additional information about the ISAT can be found through the link on the right.

The State has released sample items in each of the fundamental learning areas assessed. This page provides links to online versions of sample tests.





Professional Testing Practices for Educators provides educators with information and guidelines about the following:
-test security,
-test preparation for students,
-standardized test administration,
-reporting test results, and
-sanctions for testing irregularity.
