Land's End Teachers Light The Way Awards
SCOPE: Nominate your favorite teacher by filling out an entry form and writing an essay (up to 500 words) describing how your teacher is a bright light in education.
ELIGIBILITY: Available to any teacher who has made a difference in the life of a student, a school or a community.
DEADLINE: Midnight CDT, April 17, 2008.
FUNDS: 45 awards granted with three grand prizes of $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000.

2009 Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy
SCOPE: Let your third-through-fifth grade teachers know how special they are by choosing them for a chance to go to a cool math and science camp next summer.
ELIGIBILITY: Available to third- through fifth-grade teachers only. A group of math and science experts will pick 100 teachers from across the country.
DEADLINE: October 31, 2008.
AWARD: A free camp where teachers go and learn about math and science through fun ways! The 2009 camp will be one week long and your teacher will learn with other teachers from across the country.

Outstanding Science Teacher Award
SCOPE: The Institute for Science Information is accepting nominations for the Outstanding Information Science Teacher Award. The award, established in 1980, is intended to recognize the unique teaching contribution of an individual as a teacher of information science.
ELIGIBILITY: The recipient must be directly engaged in teaching some aspect of information science on a continuing basis, in an academic or a non-academic setting.
DEADLINE: July 1, 2008.
AWARD: A cash award of $1,000, $500 towards travel or other expenses to the grant recipient to attend the ASIS&T annual meeting, and $250 to ASIS&T Headquarters towards administrative fees.
