Rockford Public Schools - Human Resources Department
Rockford Public Schools will not be facilitating early registration of teaching certificates through the Human Resources Department this year.
Standard Certificate Holders or Administrative Certificate Holders Active certified staff members with standard teaching certificates or administrative certificates expiring on or before 6/30/09 should go online using the ECS system to enter their Professional Development and submit the Statement of Assurance as soon as possible. Once the ROE and ISBE have approved the Statement of Assurance, they may register their certificate(s) online in ECS or in person at the Regional Office of Education.
Initial Certificate Holders In May, active certified staff members with initial teaching certificates expiring on or before 6/30/09 and having four full years of teaching experience (no substitute or transitional bilingual experience can be counted) should:
Step 1: Go online using the ECS system to enter their Professional Development and submit the Statement of Assurance.
Step 2: Contact the Rockford Public Schools Human Resources Department to request a letter of teaching experience to be sent to the Regional Office of Education.
Step 3: Once the ROE and ISBE have approved the Statement of Assurance, they may complete the application for the Standard Certificate and pay the $30 fee.
Step 4: Teachers will then register the Standard Certificate and pay the applicable fee to extend this certificate to 5 years. This may all be completed online in ECS or in person at the Regional Office of Education.
Active certified staff members with initial teaching certificates expiring on or before 6/30/09 that do not have four full years of teaching experience should go online using the ECS system and renew their initial certificates for four additional years. Once four full years of teaching experience has been acquired, teachers MUST obtain the Standard Certificate regardless of the year the Initial Certificate expires.
All Active Certified Staff All active employees that are registering certificates this year will be required to submit proof of registration to the Human Resources Department prior to the first day of the 2009-2010 school year.
NOTE: There is a $1.75 charge to register certificates online using a credit card. Please contact the Human Resources Department if you have any questions.
