Description of Eisenhower |
Eisenhower Middle School (Grades 6-8) is a leader academically, based on student's test scores, and continually challenges students with new and updated technology. The academic curriculum focuses on Illinois goals and national standards and is intended to prepare students for future academic success.
Eisenhower is on 211 acres, secure and removed from high traffic areas. The grounds are well maintained for outdoor education and provide playing fields for physical education. Eisenhower Middle Schools theme is "Eisenhower Means Success". Teacher advocates and advisory programs provide ongoing assistance to help all students successfully negotiate early adolescence. Home base, Circle Groups, Advisory, Block-time, and Interdisciplinary Team Programs provide opportunities for advocates to meet regularly with their students in small groups during the school day. Such programs are carefully designed to help students develop respect for self and others. They foster compassion, a workable set of values, and the skills of cooperation, decision-making and goal-setting.
Eisenhower has a strong, supportive staff who sets the standards for excellence. Most teachers have advanced degrees and many years of experience, continually updating their skills through workshops, classes and staff development.
