Auburn High School was awarded the Exxon Mobil Grant for $750. From this money, the math department was able to order a projector screen, 2 overhead projectors and several classroom sets of mini white boards. The screen and projector are useful for teachers giving notes and can be used by students to present problems to the class. The projector screen is also great for showing classroom presentations by students and teachers who use Power Point. Last of all, the projector is great to begin Class Openers and to review topics covered during classroom closure.
The mini white boards can be utilized by individual students or groups to get quick feedback during in-class activities. Students can quickly compare work, definitions and explanations with each other. They also allow teachers to give formative assessments and feedback during class openers or organized class activities.
