English Department "Student Achievement Opportunity" Policy |
If seniors have failed semester one, but have between a 50-59% average, they may have the opportunity to bring their grades up to the minimal 60%.
This decision must be made quickly; SAO takes two weeks and has to be completed successfully. All work is due February 6. Also, students must attend at least four (free) tutoring sessions in the library, offered on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. Students must complete one or more of the following assignments (as determined by the teacher):
Redo (or do for the first time) the senior research paper, completing all steps in the assigned order. Redo any failed literature tests from the semester. Submit missing assignments as designated by your teacher. Retake the final exam in order to earn a passing grade. |
