Parent /Teacher conferences
Dear Parents,
Conferences are a great time for us to share ideas and strategies about how we can help your child get the most out of his/her day. Please take a moment to select a convenient time for us to meet and return your child’s conference signup sheet that I have included in
today’s mail. As you can see, I have allowed 15 minutes for each student. If you feel we need a longer time to talk about concerns, please contact me. Our fall reading assessments are completed and I will share some of those results with you then. Our grading period doesn’t end until 11/18, so report cards will not be available. I look forward to meeting with you.

Extra Credit Science Project

In Reading and Science this week, the children read and discussed ocean animals. They made ocean collages and got excited when I mentioned an extra credit report they could do on a sea creature that interests them. Many wanted to go home and look up information online. If your child shows an interest in doing this short (1page) report, please remind them that it must be in their own words and include the
following: name of creature, description, diet, class (mammal, fish, etc.) and habitat. You may help with typing the paper if they want it typed, but it may be neatly handwritten. I would like to have all reports turned in by Fri.,10/17.
