  • Please make sure to call in your child’s absence every day that he/she will be

out of school. Long absences without notification to the school are considered

truancy. Truant officers will visit your home if your child remains truant.

Please call the office between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. to report your child’s

    absence. Thank you!

  • Please try to make appointments for your child(ren) before or after school.

Students leaving early can cause students to miss important

    instructions/assignments from their teachers.

  • Please limit last minute phone messages for students to “emergency calls only”.

The “busyness” in the office at the end of the school day, teachers being

interrupted during their lessons/instructions, and/or students attending a

special (music, art, P.E.), can cause your message to be undeliverable.

  • CARLSON SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR FEBRUARY 18, 2010
    Science Fair Planning Guide

Click on the link above for the Science Fair Planning Guide, ideas

    and Judging Criteria

Fantastic Reasons for your student to participate in the 2010 Science Fair

  • Enable students to exhibit their projects and share ideas with other

    students and community members.

  • Provide opportunities for students to receive feedback from professional

    scientists and community members.

  • Provide students with exciting opportunities to work with the scientific

method on a topic of their own choosing which need not necessarily

relate directly to the curriculum at a particular grade level.

  • This is a non-competitive event. Students will be given recognition

for participation and merit –superior, excellent and good, based on a set

standard, without projects being classified by ranking (i.e. first place,

    second place etc.)

  • Projects that "fail" to turn out as expected are an important learning

    opportunity.

  • Experimentation is a very valuable part of learning and "failure" of

a project or experiment is considered a valid project for display.

    for our library.

Don't forget to save your Campbell's Soup Labels.

    technology.

    Carlson Computer Lab
    Carlson School Tech-Walk

To all the sponsors below, one last Thank You for the

many generous donations we received. Pictured is the

final set up of the computer lab. The furniture looks

great and the technology of the Smart Board is fully

functional now. The computer / technology lab rests in

the center of our school, making it an appealing

    visual centerpiece.

With sincerity and great appreciation for your

generosity and on behalf of all the students,

    parents, and staff.
