Please make sure to call in your child’s absence every day that he/she will be
out of school. Long absences without notification to the school are considered
truancy. Truant officers will visit your home if your child remains truant.
Please call the office between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. to report your child’s
absence. Thank you!
Please try to make appointments for your child(ren) before or after school.
Students leaving early can cause students to miss important
instructions/assignments from their teachers.
Please limit last minute phone messages for students to “emergency calls only”.
The “busyness” in the office at the end of the school day, teachers being
interrupted during their lessons/instructions, and/or students attending a
special (music, art, P.E.), can cause your message to be undeliverable.

Summer Reading Catalog
The link above accesses a pdf pamphlet that has a list
of some wonderful suggested summer reading titles for
yourchild. The books on the list are ordered by reading
level and have the call numbers for easy access at the
Rockford Public Library and its branches. You can check
your child's report card for his or her current reading
level.

Carlson Students will be saving Boxtops for Education
again this year. Proceeds go to help buy new books
for our library.
Don't forget to save your Campbell's Soup Labels.
Proceeds are currently targeted for classroom
technology.

Carlson School Tech-Walk
Thank you for the many generous donations we have
received. You will be able to see the direct results of
the fundraising when school opens in the fall. The
computer / technology lab is such a centerpiece of our
school. It is exciting to be involved in finishing the
process of this computer lab that was begun just four
years ago. We all are aware of the importance the use of
technology plays in our daily lives and the continuing
promise that it brings. We are committed to using
technology in education to the greatest extent possible.
