Students are accustomed to finding their books in the library using a color coded system. They may tell you the color of the books they are reading instead of their reading level.
Here is the key:
Book Grade Level:
Purple = book levels less than 1
Yellow = book level 1 - 2
Brown = book level 2 to 3
Blue = book level 3 to 4
Black = book level 4 to 5
Red = book level 5 to 6
Green = book level 6 to 7
White = book level 7
