In the Area of Language does your child:

____learn a song and the actions that go with the words

____carry out multi step unrelated directions

____understand positional words such as: under, in front, in back

____use 5-6 words in most sentences

____have a vocabulary of 4000 words

____have speech that can be understood by others 75% of the time

____carry on short conversations for 5 turns on the same topic


In the Area of Reading Readiness does your child:

____recognize her name when printed

____fill in a rhyming word missing from a rhyme:
Jack & Jill went up the_____.

____”read” familiar words/signs in the environment “McDonalds”, K-Mart

____enjoy hearing some favorite stories read over and over

In the Area of Writing does your child:

____use scribbles, shapes and letter like symbols to write

____try to write for a variety of purposes, such as lists, messages &
pretend play

____print some letters, especially those in their name


In the Area of Thinking & Problem Solving does your child:

____put things into groups according to size, color, shape

____complete an 8-10 piece puzzle

____find which thing or picture does not belong

____name 8 basic colors

____count 10 items out loud

____begin to draw and build with an idea in mind

____keep his attention on something he chooses to do, for 15 minutes
