Jackson Elementary School focuses on the character values of honesty, integrity, building social values and a sense of community service. The school motto is “Linking Children to Their Future”. Our motto compliments the school district’s motto of “Victory is in the Classroom”. Jackson School is dedicated to helping all students become responsible citizens within a changing community.
The school curriculum utilizes Guided Reading Balanced Literacy reading techniques, 6-Trait Writing, Question/Answer Response, and Everyday Mathematics instruction. Students learn skills of collaborative learning within instructional units of Community, Country, World, and Universe.
The Jackson multicultural community ventures to promote skill acquisition and positive interpersonal relationships in preparation for future roles in advancing technological age.
The caring and experienced staff at Jackson is dedicated to the individual student’s success. Classroom teachers and strict enforcement of discipline policies provide a safe environment for all students.
Partnerships of parents and teachers are formed to promote academics and socio-emotional success for students. School improvement planning incorporates staff, parents, administration and community input of ideas.

• Jackson Elementary School implements the Solutions for Excellence Program.
• Just Bee Program is a cross-grade level program that focuses on character building in Grades 2-5.
• Principal Awards recognizes student behaviors that promote citizenship, community involvement, improved achievement and conduct.
• The B.U.G. (Being Unusually Good) Program is utilized to reinforce positive student behavior.
• A K-5 reading coach assists with reading instruction to improve reading achievement for all students.
• Jackson School’s corporate sponsors, Swedish American Hospital – provides tutors, funds, programs and assistance to Jackson School students, and Home Depot – provides funding for building renovations.
• Internet access is available in all classrooms, the library and in the computer lab.
• A Reading First Literacy Coach, provided through the Title I Reading Grant, supports and assists classroom teachers.
