7TH AND 8TH GRADE ENGLISH
• The 2008-2009 school year marks my fourth year at John F. Kennedy Middle School in the Rockford School District. I am very excited to be a part of 8th-grade teaching team here at Kennedy. I am proud to be part of such a dedicated and hard working staff.
• The focus in all English classes is writing. The students will be spending the majority of their year learning to analyze different types of writing as well as how to respond accurately and thoughtfully in their own writing. The students will be writing many essays in response to literature they have read both in class and out. In the Spring, we will venture into the world of novels with an in-depth reading and analysis of specific works.
• We have much to accomplish during the 2008-2009 school year. I look forward to the challenges we face; I know with hard work and effort, the students will continue to develop excellent writing skills.

• Information - Absent students are responsible for making up the work they missed. Classwork must be obtained by the student upon his/her return to school. Completing an alternative assignment will allow students the opportunity to earn any in-class participation points they may have missed.
