ASAP TEAM TUTORING

Students are invited to stay by their team teachers for extra help, to finish assignments and projects, for a little ” TLC”, to make up work they may have missed, or possibly to fulfill a consequence from the team (must incorporate tutoring). Please consider inviting at least 5 but no more than 15 students every night.

HOMEWORK CLUB

The tutor for this club is Pam Brooks. These students show up on a more regular basis. Students will follow a “3-strikes-you’re-out” program for behavioral issues and are to be sent to Mrs. Berg and/or Ms. Norgart to make a phone call home and receive a strike. There is a cap of 20 students, so as spots open, new students will be added.

ALTHLETIC TUTORING

This group is reserved for athletes in season or out of season to maintain their GPA’s and grades in the classroom. They will also follow the “3-strikes-you’re-out” program for behavior, and like every student will have other school-related material to read or work on if they finish early.

FRIDAY ACTIVITY

Students must have participated in any of the above tutoring sessions in order to stay for the Friday activity. The activities are pre-planned and add to the educational/social success of our students. They will include but e not limited to open gym, open pool, games day, or crafts. There will be at least two teachers, plus Mrs. Berg and/or Ms. Norgart engaging and enjoying the activities on Fridays. This may be a larger group of participants.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

1. I will be on time for snack in the cafeteria (3:35-3:45).

2. I will sit at my assigned table. If I need to use the restroom I will ask my tutor and hurry back.

3. I will walk to my tutoring room with my tutors.

4. I must take all snacks that are offered to me. If I do not want to eat them, I may put them in the "extra’s bin".

5. I must be in my tutoring room at 3:47, ready to work, or I will receive a strike.

6. I must participate at least two days a week to be allowed at the activity on Fridays.

7. I must work the entire time (until 4:55) or I will receive a strike. If I finish all of my homework I must have other school things to do (study, read, make flashcards, rewrite class notes, etc.) If I do not have anything to work on, I will not stay after school that day.

8. I will take the activity bus home at 5pm or have someone pick me up by the time the buses leave RESA. If I miss my bus, or my ride picks me up late I will receive a strike.

9. I understand that if I do not comply with the rules of this program I will visit the after school coordinator (Mrs. Berg or Ms. Norgart), make phone calls to my parent/guardian, and receive up to three strikes. After three strikes I am out of the program for the remainder of the year.
