Rockford Public Schools Homework Policy 1. Homework policies should be clearly stated in writing for parents and students. 2. Each school should establish guidelines on how much time students should be expected to dedicate to homework. 3. Homework assignments should align with Illinois State Learning Goals and RPS power standards. 4. Homework should be utilized to prepare students for future instruction (reading, research, etc.) or to provide practice on skills that have been introduced in class 5. All homework assignments should be followed up with review, discussion, or grading as appropriate. Teachers must check homework content to assign a grade. 6. Homework may account for up to, but no more than, twenty percent of a student’s final grade. |
