Our number one goal is for our students to stop and think about how past United States and world events, people, and cultures have affected them as individuals.

Students will know, in advance, the dates of quizzes and tests. There will be no "pop" quizzes. Both quizzes and tests will be given throughout the course of the year. Each test will have a review session and students will be provided review study sheets.

Units that we will explore in U.S. History:
1. Local History
2. Building a Nation
3. Washington, Adams, Jefferson
4. War of 1812, Manifest Destiny
5. Slavery
6. Civil War/Reconstruction
7. Immigration/Industrialization
8. Progressivism
9. Imperialism/World War I
10. The Roaring 1920s
11. The New Deal and the Depression
12. World War II
13. The Cold War
14. The Civil Rights Movement
15. The Vietnam Conflict
16. The Nixon Administration
